We are a chartered member of Little League International. Little League has over 180,000 teams in the United States and in 53 foreign countries. We are a non-profit organization with geographical jurisdictions in Ward 5 and portions of Ward 4.
We have been servicing these communities since 1996 by providing community based baseball for boys and girls ages 4 to 18. We provide youth with a safe, fun and family oriented program that demonstrates the ideals of good sportsmanship, character, teamwork, courage and respect. Our program insures every player regardless of ability to have a great experience. Our league was founded in 1996 with the intention to provide a safe, fun and competitive place for the youth of our area to play baseball and grow into young men and women with a strong sense of community. Our program is available for players as young as 4 and as old as age 18. Our season runs from the beginning of April until Mid-June with an average of 15 games.
Senators Satchel Paige Little League prides itself on providing competitive, but fair play. All players are included in the batting order and we have fair play rules so that all players receive equal playing time. We allow players that assess at higher skill levels, to play up one age level. We invest in pre-season coaches and player training so that your child receives quality instruction during practices and games. We also provide several weeks of umpire training in order to have well run and officiated games during the season. We have dedicated board members who volunteer all year to make your spring and fall seasons a great experience for your player and your family.
Post-season play continues into the summer. Teams are selected thru a voting system that accounts for players performance every game. There is no room for politics in our all-star selection process! We send teams that have a chance to play on thru state and regional competitions and then to make it to the best competition in the world – the Little League World Series!
Welcome to our family – can’t wait to see you on the fields.
